During my career, I have been involved in economics and finance as well as long term issues of society, such as pensions or education. This is why I was shocked that the career of our dear friend Szabolcs was wrecked so drastically – a life with much work and fight in developing education methods, and also in community building. I have decided to set up the Foundation in order to carry on this inheritance as much as we can and support future students and teachers this way. By watching my two children I can directly experience and gauge the effect of our work.
I have realized and understood what Szabolcs gave me during the Fazekas years only in adulthood. He did not only polish my knowledge about physics and chemistry, but raised me to become humane and showed how to build and form communities. He planned and organized trips, sports activities, competitions, and bicycle and whitewater trips very actively and consciously, but he also played a daddy role when necessary. Our shared love of basketball created a bond from the beginning. His endless energy and enthusiasm motivates me even today in my work and private life. My aim is to keep Szabolcs’s memory and inheritance by helping the Foundation’s activities.
